March 2, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Michael Phelan
Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Stuttgart
will give a talk on:
“Interventional Lorentz Force-Based Actuation under Magnetic Resonance Imaging”
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been a widely adopted technique for visualizing soft tissue for treating life-altering conditions such as cardiovascular disease or cancer. Intervening directly within MRI devices offers many advantages but is limited due to the lack of available tools and highly constraining environment of the MRI device. Lorentz force-based actuators have shown significant potential due to their scalability, ease of manufacturing, and high force/torque to weight ratio. This talk explores Lorentz force-based actuators within MRI devices for medical tool integration.
The talk is held on Thursday, March 2nd at 6pm
at the Analysezentrum III, 2nd Floor, Room 332
